Produktnyheter - CampTrac & CAVVISIT
2022-09
The biggest update since CampTrac & CavVisit were created.
Hello all customers and friends!
Here comes the product newsletter for the access control system and payment system CampTrac as well as the automatic visitor management system CavVisit. Here you will find Exciting news, BIG news, and maaany news.
We apologize for the amount of information in this update, but we have been working on it for a long time. We have worked so hard on it that we would like to say it is the biggest update of the APV platform (the platform where CampTrac and CavVisit are included) since the platform was launched.
We truly hope you find something that interests you among all these updates. Do you have any questions or want to know more? Feel free to reach out! CONTACT
Partners that are onboard
All our integration partners (DL Systems, Digital Rez, Planyo, Q-channel, Speeron, Transitor, Turbo, and more) have worked hard on their integrations with CampTrac and CavVisit. With the new API (which has also been updated), even more features will become available in the systems you use together with CampTrac and CavVisit.
The PartnerSec APP is here
One APP for all online doors!
With the new app, a user (someone needing access to doors at one or multiple locations) can gain access to doors and barriers with a simple click of a button. The user can also use a QR code, which functions as an access card.
The app is a so-called “multi-site” app, meaning it allows users to access multiple locations (multiple CampTrac customers) within a single app. This way, the user can have one app for all places where CampTrac is used.
This means that if, for example, the user’s workplace uses CampTrac as an access control system, the app will display an account containing all virtual keys from the workplace, and if the user’s gym also uses CampTrac, there will be another account with keys for the gym in the app. If the user then books a spot at a campground, this account will also be displayed in the app.
The app can have an unlimited number of accounts and keys from different locations using CampTrac, and each account follows the issuer’s unique rules and validity period (workplace, campground, gym, ski lodge, nursing homes, etc.).
The app opens all doors or barriers that use CampTrac Online card readers.
Simple and smart, isn’t it? 😊
The app is free to download for all end-users.

The SMS-key™ (for those who don't want to download an app)
The SMS-key™ is virtual keys (one or more) that you can send to a user’s smartphone via SMS. The SMS-key™ appears as links in the user’s phone which they click on to open a door.
The purpose of the SMS-key™ is to provide a user access to one or more doors for a certain period without needing to issue smart cards or provide physical keys.
And of course, you can send them to anyone/anywhere as long as they have a smartphone (any smartphone). No app required! 😊
CampTrac administrators can easily issue an SMS-key™ to a user at any time. This function saves time, resources, and reduces the stress of being at a specific location at a specific time to issue a pass card or provide keys.
The SMS-key opens all doors or barriers that use CampTrac Online card readers.
The QR-key™ (for those who want to send a QR code that can be used on a smartphone or printed on paper)
The QR-key™ is a special QR code that functions as a key to open doors or barriers. The QR-key™ can be sent to a user’s smartphone in an SMS or in an email.
The QR-key™ is very convenient when you want to send a temporary key to someone.
The QR-key™ is very practical to send to visitors, guests, delivery drivers, and truck drivers.
QR-key™ requires CampTrac QR-key™ reader. CampTrac QR-key reader reads both QR-keys™ and Mifare cards.
PIN codes (for those who prefer codes)
Now it’s super easy to send a unique PIN code that your users, guests, or visitors can use to open doors and security gates. In CampTrac, you can easily issue a PIN code and send it via SMS or email.
The CampTrac administrator determines how long the PIN code will be valid.
In CampTrac Real-Time monitor, you can see when the user uses the PIN code.
PIN codes work on all doors and security barriers that use CampTrac Online card readers with keypads.
Updated menu structure
As CampTrac system has gained more features, the menu structure has become harder to navigate, and we felt it was time for simplification. So, we ensured that the most used functions were displayed directly and that all administrative functions were grouped in sub-menus.
Select "Workstation" upon logging into the system
When logging into CampTrac, you must assign a workstation (workstation number) to your logged-in session. The purpose of the workstation number is that CTOWC (the small Windows software that communicates with the card programmer) needs to communicate with your browser to “capture” the commands you want to perform, such as programming an access card or adding money to a card.
This new feature will prompt you upon login to select which workstation you want to use if you haven’t already been assigned one.
New reports
We have added 6 new reports that will significantly enhance the capabilities to extract data from the system in the way you want it. All reports are exportable to Microsoft Excel so that you can work with them further there.
Alarm Monitor displaying alarms in real-time
We have added a real-time alarm monitor that shows you all alarms from the door environments in real-time.
We know that not many of our customers constantly monitor the alarm monitor (even though it’s really good), so we added text messages (SMS) and emails for all types of alarms. When an alarm occurs, you’ll receive an SMS (or email), so you don’t have to keep an eye out for alarms, but rather be informed if something suspicious happens. You can, of course, customize the messages sent via SMS and email when an alarm occurs.
Advanced schedule management for Cards and Codes
The advanced schedules allow the CampTrac administrator to create schedules for when the card reader only accepts cards or when it will require cardholders to present their cards and then enter their PIN code to open the door. The schedule feature includes management of daily schedules (hours/minutes), weekly schedules (Monday-Sunday), holiday schedules, and annual schedules.
Advantage: This is an advanced feature that allows the CampTrac administrator to enhance security in buildings where card access is okay during the day, but during nighttime/weekends/holidays, all cardholders will need to enter their PIN code after presenting their card.
This also ensures that a lost card cannot be used outside of office hours without using a PIN code. This function follows the concept of “something you have (card) and something you know (PIN code)”.
Additional features and improvements
- CTOWC (CampTrac Windows Client). CTOCW is now updated to version 2.6 and includes the following improvements.
- Ignore all other card readers (smart card readers) than CTC200. Previously, the CTOWC client connected itself to all smart card readers on the computer where it was installed (including Windows Hello). This created several unnecessary error messages. This could also cause issues with issuing cards.
- The CTOWC icon is always visible on the Tools menu. The small “C” icon visible in the Windows toolbar was only shown when the CTOWC window was minimized. Now it’s always visible when the client is running.
- CTOWC runs without Logging running by default. If logging is required, it’s now possible to start it at any time. Logging is primarily used for support purposes.
- Online card reader Status update. You can now manually test the status of the online card reader if you suspect the status of the card reader is incorrect.
- Hide the “Always Valid” checkbox for users. The system administrator can now hide the “Always Valid” checkbox for facility administrators. The purpose of this feature is to prevent a user from mistakenly issuing a card that is valid at all times.
- Default APP card. As part of the PartnerSec APP implementation, the facility administrator can now issue a card that will be the “default APP card” for a facility in the APP.
- Updated RESTFul API. In the updated API, developers can now create keys (RFID cards, PIN codes, SMS keys, QR keys) with a single command.
- Updated user groups. Include buildings, schedules, and relay schedules in user groups.
- Several security updates. We have now implemented user protection for concurrent users, protection against attempting an incorrect password too many times, session timeout (the user will be locked out after a certain amount of inactivity), and many other new security features.
- Bug fixes
- QR keys and SMS keys can now be sent separately.
- Real-time monitoring logs (logs of access to card readers) now show card readings from so-called “universal card readers” (card readers shared between tenants).
- No restrictions in permissions. Adding card readers to a permission caused an error when the number of card readers exceeded 50. This is now corrected, and there is no limit on the number of card readers included in a permission.
- Translation. The translation “Fixed price” in the product screen has now been changed to “Flexible price” as it was used to handle flexible prices and not fixed prices.
- Fixed other translation issues.
- Fixed other bugs.

CavVisit Automatic Visitor Management System - News
Visitors are automatically checked in when they arrive by car
Check-in with automatic license plate recognition camera
If a visitor receives an invitation to visit a facility using CavVisit, the visitor can enter their license plate number (along with other information) in the web-based pre-registration form (link provided with the invitation).
If they do this, the ALPR camera (Automatic License Plate Recognition camera) will automatically read the visitor’s license plate when they arrive at the company they are visiting, open the gate/barrier, check them in to CavVisit, automatically create a QR code in CampTrac, and grant them access in the QR readers in the garage connected to CampTrac.
The receptionists will also be automatically notified via SMS/email about the visitor’s arrival. This assumes that the system uses CampTrac integration.
A new dashboard with a built-in people counter
New dashboard with helicopter view of connected facilities
New dashboard featuring a general overview of meeting statuses in connected facilities. This smart tool provides managers with an overview of the current status of all ongoing meetings as well as those that are planned.
Additionally, there’s a second view showing pre-booked meetings that are upcoming. This view is used to plan the necessary staff levels for the upcoming days/weeks/months based on the number of pre-booked visitors.
People Counter
The people counter is an integral part of the dashboard, showing the number of visitors, receptionists, and individuals currently in the building.
For the people counter to work, CavVisit must be used in conjunction with the access control system CampTrac and speed gates with IN and OUT readers.
The new emergency evacuation system is a module in CavVisit
Emergency evacuation feature with individual messages to all visitors, receptionists, and authorized authorities
When the Evacuation feature is activated, the evacuation system sends out SMS messages with individual self-service links, maps, and instructions to staff and visitors. Everyone can report their own status, and the system is automatically updated.
Administrators and emergency responders can see the status and location of all individuals on the premises in real-time, as well as contact information so they can reach out to those who haven’t reported their status or haven’t reached the assembly point yet.
The evacuation system is a self-service system, meaning that all individuals on the premises receive a personalized SMS with instructions and links, making it clear that the evacuation alarm is for them and should not be ignored.
The system provides fire chiefs and evacuation coordinators with a highly effective and clear tool where they can see exactly who is inside the premises, their status (what they have reported via the evacuation portal), and their contact information, allowing them to easily search through everyone and prioritize them if they haven’t updated their status yet.
Addition to the emergency evacuation system
Updated emergency evacuation feature to also include employees (now visitors AND employees)
The previous emergency evacuation feature included visitors, but now CavVisit can also send evacuation messages to all employees in the building.
The condition is that the system uses CampTrac integration. The number of checked-in VISITORS, checked-in HOSTS, and total PEOPLE can be viewed in the Dashboard and in the evacuation list.
Integration with Kone destination control system
QR codes direct visitors to the correct floor.
Visitors receive QR codes from the CavVisit visitor management system, which then automatically guides the visitor to the correct floor using the most efficient elevator. CavVisit’s new self-service kiosk automates the entire visitor management process in conjunction with Kone’s platform.
Thanks to Kone’s new destination platform combined with the CavVisit visitor management system, the efficiency of existing elevators can increase to the extent that the property owner does not need to invest in more elevators to achieve higher capacity.
With the visitor management system’s new integration with Kone’s latest destination platform, entrance security is automated for both employees and visitors. Right people in the right place
With CavVisit’s unique multisite structure with built-in floor plan management, it is ensured that the visitor can only go to the floor where the host is located.
The QR code from CavVisit acts as an intelligent access card and sends the visitor directly to the correct floor.
Queue management system
Built-in queue management system for receptions that need to issue queue tickets to visitors requiring personal assistance
The brand new built-in Queue Management System allows CavVisit administrators to define one or multiple facilities in CavVisit as a “Queue Facility”.
The visitor can then click a button on the CavVisit Enterprise kiosk (or choose among several if there are different queues) to print a queue ticket.
Note that the Enterprise kiosk can handle multiple “Queue Facilities” if the customer wishes to set up different queues for different purposes.
This feature is very convenient for the reception managing both “walk-ins,” meaning individuals who walk into the reception and have an errand but do not know whom to visit or where to go. By taking a queue ticket, the visitor receives a paper ticket with a queue number, which will be displayed on a large screen when it is their turn.
The receptionist/administrator can view all queues and how long each number has been waiting. They can easily switch numbers from the CavVisit Admin client.
Bug fixes and Security updates
In the new version of CavVisit, a series of known bugs and issues have been addressed.
For more information regarding these, please refer to the Release Notes for the respective system.
