How is Planyo integrated with the CampTrac access control system?

PIN codes instead of access cards. When a hotel or campground guest makes a booking through Planyo’s web service, Planyo automatically generates a unique 6-digit PIN code, which is sent to the guest via SMS and email. The PIN code is used on CampTrac Cloud system’s online connected keypads to open the door to the guest’s lodging and access various facilities available to the guest. If the guest modifies or extends their stay, the PIN code’s validity period is automatically updated. Thanks to the unique nature of each guest’s PIN code, these codes can be traced and easily deactivated in case of any issues. The PIN code is sent well in advance of the guest’s arrival, allowing the guest to manage it themselves. This also means that the guest can arrive at the facility even if it is closed. With the PIN code, the guest gains access to current services on the premises. The solution also manages regular access cards in the same manner as PIN codes.

SMS keys sent to the guest’s mobile instead of access cards. When a hotel or campground guest makes a booking through Planyo’s web service, Planyo automatically generates a unique SMS key, which is sent to the guest’s mobile phone via SMS. The SMS key is a virtual key (one or more) displayed as buttons on the user’s phone that they click to open a door. The purpose of the SMS key is to grant a user access to one or more doors for a specific period without needing to issue smart cards or physical keys. SMS keys differ from PIN codes in that they are harder to share and provide slightly higher security than PIN codes.

Planyo sends QR codes to guests, serving as access cards in CampTrac Cloud QR code readers. When a guest makes a booking in Planyo’s booking system, Planyo automatically generates a QR key in CampTrac Cloud. A few days before the guest’s arrival at the hotel or campground, Planyo automatically sends out the QR key to the guest via SMS and email. The QR key is a special QR code that acts as an access card in CampTrac Cloud’s QR code readers.
